About Me

Allow me to re-introduce myself (cue Jay-z’s Public Service Announcement music).

My name is Nia and I am a multi-hyphenate professional.

I love learning. I love language. I love leadership. Opportunities that combine my passions and purpose are among my favorite things in the world.

I am a proud afro-latina/afro-indigina woman by way of the Dominican Republic.

I am a bilingual, school-based speech-language pathologist who also runs another blog called Bilingual Speech Resources. I am passionate about helping youth, especially those with are underrepresented, find their voice in the world.

I am an avid reader. There are more books in my house than there is space on my bookshelves. I have a problem.

And I am a storyteller and creative non-fiction writer. I love to create content (via a variety of platforms) that braid the personal, the literary + the political. I believe in the collective healing power of sharing vulnerabilities and building community.

Above all, I am a champion of culturally responsive pedagogy and establishing sustainable relationships that help organizations fulfill their mission and goals.
