At this very moment, you are exactly where you need to be. Before you continue, I need you to do one thing.

Breathe.

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and hold. Then, exhale all the air out of our body and repeat a few times until you feel steady and grounded. This is an exercise in mindfulness and a reminder of the vital force that lives inside of you. A vital force that you will need to push through Resistance.

Resistance is the negative internal force that blocks you when you attempt to move to a higher level of growth and maturity. No matter where you are in life, you will meet Resistance in one shape or another. Sometimes it will be in your relationships. Other times the obstacles you face will come from your art, work, finances, family and (the most difficult) from within.

It is said that pain is passed down generation to generation until someone is ready to feel it. The dysfunction that manifests in our body, mind, and spirit is often something that has been passed down to us. But you don’t have to accept it. You don’t have to surrender to your circumstances or your origins.¬†When we meet Resistance, it feels natural to want to stop or escape, but often Resistance means that something better is on the way.

We are all storytellers, even those of us who don’t have the ability to use words. We carry stories that inform how we see the world, how we interact with others and how we choose to show up in our day-to-day. When you choose to honor your stories, you are able to walk into the healing power of storytelling.

What does it mean to heal through storytelling? How do you push through Resistance to be your best self and unlock your creative genius? How do you find and wield your authentic voice for personal and community healing? These are the questions I’m here to help you answer.
