About Me

Allow me to re-introduce myself (cue Jay-z’s Public Service Announcement music)

My name is Nia and I contain multitudes:

I am a committed wife, sister, daughter, and friend.

I am a proud afro-latina/afro-indigina woman by way of the Dominican Republic.

I am a bilingual, school-based speech-language pathologist who also runs another blog called Bilingual Speech Resources. I am passionate about helping children, especially those with special needs, find their voice in the world.

I am an avid reader. There are more books in my house than there is space on my bookshelves. I have a problem.

And I am a storyteller and creative non-fiction writer. I love to create content (via a variety of platforms) that braid the personal, the literary + the political. I believe in the collective healing power of sharing vulnerabilities.

I use this blog and my YouTube channel to share out reviews, recipes, relationship reflections, and recommendations in hopes of inspiring you to push through the resistance that you will inevitably encounter in your life.
